Day 79 – Sheep grazing on the hillside at dusk

day 79It was dusk as I left rehearsal this evening, and stopped to take a few shots of the Rhondda Fach on my way home.  Next to this photogenic tree, I realised I also had found some of our welsh sheep too.

I have played with an oil paining effect here as the image wasn’t as good as I would have liked, though I do like the way it is now, very much. Click on the image to see it larger, so that you can see the paint effect up close.

Day 48 – Rhondda Fach

Day 48 Rhondda FachRhondda Fach, from Llanwonno Mountain.

Road resurfacing led to a detour over the mountain tonight, so I took the opportunity for a quick shot down the valley in the evening sunshine (plus ash of course!) In front is Stanleytown, to the right Tylorstown (my destination for rehearsal) , with Pontygwaith disappearing around the corner.  Please correct me if I have my villages in the wrong place!!  You can see how much earlier the sun sets in the valley than on the mountain. Maybe on another day I’ll get a shot of the bandroom from up there.
