Day 216 – barge

A walk on the canal is always better if there are people on the water too.  These barges were  moored near the lock, and from the banks it look a really relaxing way to spend a few days, or even a few more. I love the reflections in the water.

Day 215 – canal bridge

A beautiful day along the canal, the sunshine when it arrive, after burning through the clouds was stunning.

Day 70 – By the canal

These blooms were by the remains of the canal in Pontypridd.  There is not much of it left, but if you go behind the Bunch of Grapes pub, you will see Lock Cottage, and a tiny bridge, and the old canal bed.  It doesn’t go far, and today there was no water, a hidden gem.  I have a feeling that the course of the canal went quite near where my house is now, though the only visible signs that we had a canal would probably be the lock cottages.
