Day 89 – Bearded Collie on the beach

day 89 bearded collieThis is Roxy, the bearded collie enjoying the beach after being chased through the dunes by Lara and Jess.  She didn’t join them in the sea though, a shame, she must be warm in all of that fur!

A most excellent bank holiday Monday spent running the dogs on the beach, when is the next one??

Day 88 – Carrot noses, not just for snowmen!

day 88 salad face Here is a happy bank holiday salad face!  I hope you enjoy him while relaxing on your day off.

I had been thinking about creating a face, and late as ever, this was my best idea, after trying a few other optical illusion ideas that will obviously require more time to set up properly.  feeling a little peckish, think I’ll have some salad!

Day 87 – Paws for thought

Day 87 pawsLook at these paws,  clean for the first time today! Its been raining today, as Lara was digging in the mud.  so now she is clean, and the floor has been washed lots too.  Here’s hoping that it stops in the night, so that we can go to the beach on our bank holiday Sunday. I am also wondering when these feet will be at full size, she is growing fast every day.

Day 86 – Don’t Eat the Daisies

Day 86 - daisiesAll I can hear in my head as I post today’s photo is Doris Day singing  ‘don’t eat the daisies’! over and over again!  I remember the song but not much more, I think I’ll have to hunt it out on the movie channels, I’d love to watch a whole season of Doris’ films.

On looking up the film, I find it is called ‘Please Don’t Eat The Daisies’, it was made in 1960 and it also starred David Niven. I’ll be looking out as always for ‘On Moonlight Bay’, and this week was treated to songs from Calamity Jane from the girls in the office.

Day 84 – ceiling shadows

day 84 shadows on the ceilingThese are the shadows on my ceiling, and part of the plant creating them.  As you can see I have adjusted the levels to create a a dramatic image.

Day 83 – metalwork sunshine

Day 83 metalwork sunshineBusy day today, so I didn’t get to see much of the not quite so hot sunshine! So here is a photo of a candle holder with a sun cut out for the light to shine through.  No candle lit today, as I was also experimenting with the macro function of my big lens.  Colours have been adjusted, and I like what I ended up with. What do you think?

Day 82 – flowers on a beautiful day

day 82 flowersThe Chelsea Flowers Show is  on this week which prompted me to search out some flowers. These caught my eye.  Yet again, I don’t know what sort of flowers they are, if you know, please leave a comment.

Day 81 – Cygnets on the lake

day 81The most fabulous weather at Llangors today.  We visited the lake late afternoon, and the baby swans were taking a turn on the lake, while the dogs were chasing the ball on the boat slip around the corner.

The dogs loved chasing the balls, and retrieving them from the water, so I may post those photos later.  Enjoy the sunshine while it is here.

Day 80 – Third Prize for Tylorstown!

Day 80Today we competed in the Championship section in the local South Wales league, in the own choice Entertainments competition at Ebbw Vale.  A really warm day, and some of the players minds were on the football game at Wembley, where Cardiff were at the Playoff Finals.  This didn’t get in the way of some excellent playing in the warm conditions, and it was interesting to see that some of the bands didn’t compete in full uniform (jackets were way too warm), while others didn’t.

This is the bands secretary Eirwen Jones, collecting the certificate for our third place from the local mayor.   I took some additional photos from the prize-giving, and will post those onto the Tylorsown Facebook Page very soon.  Looking forward to the next trip to Ebbw Vale which will be for the Eisteddfod in the summer!
