Welcome to to my photoblog. I shall be starting my Project in the morning, and will be using a combination of my Nikon D5000 and my Sony Ericsson camera phone, depending on where I am.
I am attempting this to try and gain more knowledge about my photography, and also be able to use my camera to the best of my ability.
I am Nicola Sutton, and I live and work in South Wales. I have many interests, I hope that they will provide me with inspiration and will find their way here.
Update: 22 July 2010
While my aim is to take and post an image every day, I know that this will not always be possible. I did manage to do exactly that for over a hundred days, and it was going well. Taking the rest of living into account, something had to give, and I made a choice for quality. Where I wouldn’t post an image for the sake of getting an image up today, taken today. So, if I can’t get a great image today, I may wait for tomorrow, or post a recently taken image from a day when there were choices to be made.
I have seen many 365′s where the thrill of the project ran out, or the self made rules have changed, and that was the end. This is not one of them. I am going to complete this project, and I think that my new found fussiness, will be a good thing, and that what I post will be worth looking at. Here’s to continued learning and finding interesting images to share.
I have a D40 and a D5000 too – love them
Good choice (in my humble opinion) LOL
Hello Nicola: I want to thank you for subscribing to my blog. To be honest, I don’t always reciprocate with a subscription, but after looking at several of your photos and reading about your project, I have subscribed to yours. I spent quite some time on here today, and got a sense of the joy you have with these dogs. I am particularly attracted to micro-photography, and wish I had a lens for my fundamental camera. I know nothing of photography, except what I enjoy looking at. I wouldn’t know an F-stop if I tripped over it, and use my “auto” button on all my pictures. But it’s fun and I take my bulky camera everywhere.
You are a crafter too. What was really interesting is that I had company today and she was working on a lacy shawl – something akin to one of your photos I saw – for her upcoming wedding. It’s really beautiful. … both yours and hers.
Looking forward to reading more of you; seeing your photos; and wishing I was in Wales again. One of my fondest memories was starting in Cardiff, driving along a river, through Snowdonia (sp?) all the way to the ocean – to a small town and having lunch there before heading back into England. I’m sure I have that all wrong, but perhaps that’s the best part of getting old – remembering things just the way you want to. Patsye
Thanks for taking the time to have a nose around my blog! I saw your antique samplers and read a few more posts and I think I will enjoy reading your blog.
Cardiff has probably changed a lot since you were here, they have been pedestrianising lots this year, and they repaired the Animal Wall by the Castle, (a post to come on the wall). I am working through a too long list of crafty WIP’s so that I can start some new projects, and I’d like to put these on the blog too.
